Jumping on the bandwagon

Of course there’s a significant part of me that’s drooling and lusting for an iPhone. Yes, it’s time I added my voice to the chorus, but only because I have a few questions about the iPhone as a personal item. Before we all have them, I’m curious to know what iPhone users think about “the rest of us” wanting to get our grubby hands on your shiny tool/toy. An aquaintance of my recently got an iPhone and she was happy to let me handle the thing while I helped her set it up, but a month later, she wasn’t happy with the idea of anyone touching it, lest they damage it or more importantly, see too far into her life.

iPods are by design more private; add a 3.5” touch screen and all of a sudden your life is on display. What constitutes invasion of privacy? Where is the line between prying and seeing? Must there be an etiquette for usage?

I know that should I ever decide to go the iPhone route, I’m not going to be handing the thing around for any and all to see. No, I’m going to keep it hidden away. Kind of changes the purpose of the device, doesn’t it?
